Our Coaches

Marady

Marady, the founder of Yoga Mata Studio, has a rich background in various yoga styles. Base of his yoga training was in Cambodia by Krama Yoga NGO's since 2012, He is certified in Ashtanga Primary Series from Samui Island, Thailand, where he deepened his practice under experienced instructors. Additionally, he completed a Yoga Foundation course with a renowned teacher from Australia, which enriched his understanding of yoga philosophy and teaching techniques.
That's wonderful news! Congratulations to Marday for successfully completing the Iyengar Yoga training in Kuala Lumpur. Passing this rigorous training is a significant achievement, especially since Iyengar Yoga requires a deep understanding of alignment, technique, and the ability to teach others.
Marady further expanded his expertise by participating in an intensive course at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India, deepening his knowledge of Iyengar Yoga. He also had the privilege of learning from renowned teachers like Namdaji and Kathy Cock in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. These invaluable experiences have shaped his practice and teaching style, enabling him to bring a wealth of diverse skills and insights to his yoga classes. Today, he continues to share his expertise and passion for Iyengar Yoga with students in Cambodia.

IYCT

Meet IYCT
For our Iyengar yoga classes, we have an Iyengar teacher (one of just two in Cambodia!) who is certified for the Introductory Course of Level 1 and 2 by the Ramāmani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India. For her, Iyengar yoga is a great way to holistic physical health, mental strength, and social peace. She enjoys teaching, finding ways to make yoga accessible to everyone through a body+ mind+ breath approach, and seeing the benefits students gain from it. She speaks English, German, Thai, and is currently learning French and Khmer.

Vann

"Hey everyone! My name’s Vann, and I’ve been practicing Marady since 2022. I know that starting something new can feel a little intimidating at first, but I promise you, it’s all about taking things step by step. When I first started, I didn’t know where to begin. The techniques seemed complex, and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up. But over time, I realized that the most important part is consistency and having the right mindset.

When I was starting, I made plenty of mistakes – we all do – but every time I made a mistake, I learned from it. Whether it was mastering a new move or just getting the flow right, every small improvement counted. It wasn’t always easy, but it was always rewarding.

So if any of you are feeling nervous or unsure, just know that I’ve been there too. You’re not alone in this! We’ll take it one step at a time, and soon you’ll feel more confident and comfortable. I’m here to support you through it all, so let’s make this journey a fun one together!”

Rotha

Rotha has a deep and meaningful connection to yoga, having trained and practiced with Marady for a long time. Now that she has the opportunity to share her experience, it’s an exciting moment for her to offer her knowledge and abilities through a Yoga Flow class.

In her class, Rotha could offer a blend of physical movement and mindfulness techniques that she’s learned over the years, creating a dynamic and empowering experience for her students. Given her history with Marady, she might bring unique insights into alignment, breathwork, or meditation techniques, weaving them into her flow practice.
